Ranchi, August 4, 2024 (TBB Bureau): In a noteworthy effort to bolster environmental conservation, the NTPC Swayamsidha Ladies Club undertook a significant tree plantation drive at Dungri village, Ranchi, under the guidance of Rekha Jain, President of the Club. This initiative aligns with the timeless adage, “He who plants a tree, plants a hope,” reflecting the critical role of tree planting in maintaining biodiversity, soil and water conservation, and climate regulation.
The plantation event, held in the midst of the monsoon season, saw the planting of Neem, Peepal, and Banyan trees—collectively known as Triveni trees — highlighting their importance to local ecosystems. The drive was executed with the support of the village panchayat head and members of Asha Home, Ranchi, who facilitated the smooth execution of the project. The village head expressed gratitude to the Swayamsidha Ladies Club members for their commitment to environmental preservation.
In addition to the green initiative, the NTPC Swayamsidha Ladies Club celebrated the successful completion of its second batch of sewing and stitching classes. Certificates of completion were awarded to the trainees who had undergone skill development training under NTPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, in partnership with the Swayamsidha Ladies Club and Asha Home.
During the ceremony, Rekha Jain, along with Vice Presidents, General Secretary, Joint Secretary, Cultural Secretary, Welfare Secretary and Treasurer distributed the certificates and encouraged the trainees towards self-reliance and empowerment.
These combined efforts underscore the NTPC Swayamsidha Ladies Club’s dedication to both environmental sustainability and community empowerment, marking a significant step in nurturing a more self-reliant and eco-conscious society.
