O.P. Jindal School, Angul, celebrated Utkal Divas 2025 on Tuesday with great zeal and reverence, paying tribute to Odisha’s vibrant heritage and cultural legacy. The event, which marks the formation of the state of Odisha on April 1, 1936, showcased a rich tapestry of Odisha’s art, history, and traditions.

The celebration kicked off with a soulful Welcome Song, setting a harmonious tone for the day. A captivating Odissi dance performance followed, leaving the audience mesmerized by the elegance and grace of one of India’s oldest classical dance forms. The performances highlighted the depth of Odisha’s artistic traditions, evoking a sense of pride in the state’s rich cultural heritage.

In a heartwarming gesture, Naveen Jindal, Chairman of Jindal Steel & Power and Member of Lok Sabha from Kurukshetra, extended his warm greetings to the people of Odisha through a social media post. He wrote, “Heartfelt wishes to all on Utkal Divas, commemorating the formation of Odisha on April 1, 1936. May Lord Jagannath’s blessings continue to guide this land of rich culture and heritage toward greater prosperity.”

The event saw several inspiring speeches from the students of O.P. Jindal School, with the young minds eloquently expressing their admiration for Odisha’s legacy. Teachers, too, took to the stage to speak passionately about the importance of nurturing the values of patriotism, unity, and respect for the state’s cultural identity.

Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sahu, the Principal of O.P. Jindal School, addressed the gathering with a powerful message encouraging students to not only cherish but also promote Odia culture. He emphasized the importance of unity in diversity and urged students to contribute toward a brighter future for Odisha, drawing on the state’s glorious history and cultural values.

The event also recognized outstanding talents through the Odia Essay Writing and Drawing Competitions. Special Guest Indira Chatterji from DPS, Nalco Nagar, felicitated the winners, applauding their creativity and deep understanding of the Odia culture. Their works showcased the profound connection between the youth and the cultural ethos of the state.

The program culminated with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Akhil Kumar Behera, acknowledging the contributions of all those who made the event a success. The seamless coordination of the event was ensured by R.K. Tripathy, whose efforts made the celebration a truly memorable one for all attendees.
