Paradip Port Authority observes International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Paradip, December 3, 2024 (TBB Bureau): In a heartwarming celebration of inclusivity and empowerment, the Paradip Port Authority (PPA) observed the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at JAGRUTY School for differently-abled children. The event was a testament to PPA’s commitment to the welfare and development of individuals with special needs.

Paradip Port Authority Chairman, P.L. Haranadh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and lauded the indomitable spirit and determination of the children. Speaking at the event, he expressed PPA’s dedication to supporting the school and its students. Haranadh announced plans to introduce regular sessions by occupational, speech, and audio therapists at the school, ensuring holistic development for the children.

The event also recognized the 51 Divyang employees of PPA, with the PPA Chairman presenting mementoes as a token of appreciation for their contributions.

PPA Traffic Manager & Secretary-in-Charge, G. Edison, was also present, adding to the significance of the occasion.

Demonstrating its commitment to community welfare, PPA distributed school kits to the children, while the Paradip Ladies Club extended monetary assistance to JAGRUTY School.

The program, compered by PPA Sr. Welfare Officer, N. K. Pattanaik, concluded with a vote of thanks by Welfare Officer Rama Chandra Pradhan.

The highlight of the event was the vibrant cultural performances by the school children, which left the audience inspired and enthralled.
