Paradip, November 11, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Paradip Port Authority (PPA), India’s leading major port, has taken a landmark initiative in employee wellness by partnering with Sri Sri Hospital, Cuttack, to introduce Ayurvedic treatment facilities for its workforce. This strategic collaboration was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of renowned spiritual leader and founder of the Art of Living Foundation, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and PPA Chairman P. L. Haranadh on Sunday.
This visionary approach reflects PPA’s dedication to setting benchmarks in both employee welfare and operational performance within India’s maritime industry.
Through this MoU, PPA employees will have access to comprehensive Ayurvedic outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) treatment, providing them with a holistic approach to health and wellness rooted in India’s ancient healing traditions. “We believe that investing in the health and wellbeing of our employees is crucial to their overall productivity and job satisfaction,” commented Haranadh. “This partnership aligns with our commitment to create a positive and supportive work environment,” he added.
The collaboration was marked on the same day as the 11th Convocation Ceremony of Sri Sri University, a distinguished event that celebrated academic excellence and leadership, graced by the esteemed presence of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who serves as the university’s lifetime president. His participation added a spiritual gravitas to both the convocation and the MoU signing, underscoring the significance of holistic health in building a resilient workforce.
In addition to pioneering employee wellness, PPA has continued its upward trajectory in the Indian maritime sector. As of November 10, the port has handled an impressive 88.82 MMT cargo volume, marking a 5.27 per cent increase compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year. This milestone further cements Paradip Port’s status as the leading major port in India, known for its commitment to operational excellence and sustainable growth.
With this partnership, PPA aims not only to boost the physical health of its workforce but also to foster a culture of holistic wellness, ultimately enhancing productivity and job satisfaction among its employees.
