Paradip Port Authority (PPA) on Tuesday celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm, recognizing the invaluable contributions of women across all departments and reaffirming its commitment to gender equality and empowerment.
Deputy Chairman Nilabhra Dasgupta, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, emphasized the pivotal role women play in the port’s operations and their broader impact on society. He reiterated PPA’s dedication to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace where women can excel.
The event featured distinguished Guests of Honour, including Capt. AC Sahoo, Secretary and Coordinator of the Working Women’s Cell, PPA; Swarnamayee Tripathy, Senior Research Fellow at ICSSR and a noted gender expert; and Tapasi Praharaj, a well-known social activist.
This year’s theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, Empowerment,” underscored PPA’s commitment to building a diverse and inclusive work environment where women have equal opportunities to thrive.
The celebration began with a welcome address by Susmita Samal, Chairperson of the Working Women’s Cell, PPA, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Supriti Barik, H.A.
As a highlight of the event, Deputy Chairman Dasgupta felicitated women officers and employees of PPA who have demonstrated excellence in their respective fields during the current fiscal year, further acknowledging their dedication and achievements.
