Paradip, December 6, 2024 (TBB Bureau): The Paradip Port Authority (PPA) on Friday commemorated the 68th Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, honouring the enduring legacy of the architect of the Indian Constitution. The occasion was marked by a series of heartfelt tributes and reflections on his invaluable contributions to the nation.
The PPA fraternity, under the leadership of Chairman P.L. Haranadh, gathered at the statue of Dr. Ambedkar in the morning to pay their respects. Haranadh, along with PPA Deputy Chairman Nilabhra Dasgupta, led the floral tribute ceremony, which was attended by a cross-section of PPA officials and employees.
Speaking on the occasion, the PPA Chairman highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s transformative vision and his unwavering commitment to equality, justice, and social empowerment. He emphasized how Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy continues to inspire generations to build a more inclusive and equitable society.
The event also saw the participation of other dignitaries, including Susil Chandra Nahak, Chief Mechanical Engineer, PPA, and Gangadhar Sethy and Dhuna Chandra Tarai, General Secretaries of the PPT SC & ST Employees Welfare Association. They shared insights into Dr. Ambedkar’s tireless efforts in championing the rights of marginalized communities and fostering unity among diverse groups in India.
