Paradip, September 26, 2024 (TBB Bureau): In a swift and commendable operation, two disabled fishing boats stranded in rough seas were successfully rescued and towed to safety by the Paradip Port Authority (PPA) on Thursday. The rescue operation was led by the PPA tugboat Tarini, bringing both vessels safely into Paradip harbour.
The situation was brought to the PPA’s attention following an urgent request from the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Paradip and Assistant Fisheries Officer (AFO) from Kujang. The PPA promptly deployed its tugboat Tarini, along with the pilot boat Jagannath and patrol boat Saanvi, to assist the distressed vessels.
Both fishing boats, which had suffered propeller damage, have since resolved their mechanical issues and are now securely docked at the harbour. They are expected to resume their journey to sea shortly.
