Hindustan Power, led by Chairman Ratul Puri, has secured a 425 MWp solar power project from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) under its 2,000 MWac grid-connected solar PV procurement programme. The allocation was made through a tariff-based competitive bidding process and marks a significant step toward Hindustan Power’s goal of building a 5 GW renewable energy portfolio by 2028.
The Letter of Award (LoA) was granted following a transparent e-Reverse Auction conducted by UPPCL. The power generated will be delivered to UPPCL at the STU–UP substation.
Under the terms of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), UPPCL will procure electricity from the project at a fixed tariff for a period of 25 years. The project is expected to be commissioned within 24 months of signing the PPA.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Ratul Puri said, “This win reaffirms our commitment to supporting India’s clean energy ambitions and accelerating our journey toward a 5 GW renewable energy target by 2028. We are proud to contribute to Uttar Pradesh’s growing demand for sustainable power and are confident in delivering another world-class solar project.”
Hindustan Power has long been a frontrunner in India’s renewable energy landscape. With this latest 425 MWp project, the company further solidifies its position in the fast-evolving solar sector, driving the country’s transition toward a more sustainable and green energy future.
