RBI hosts MSME Town Hall meeting in Bolangir to strengthen financial inclusion

Bolangir, November 19, 2024 (TBB Bureau): The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Bhubaneswar Regional Office, successfully conducted a Town Hall meeting on MSME-related issues in Bolangir on Tuesday. The event aimed at empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by enhancing their awareness of banking facilities and promoting their integration into the formal banking system.

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Sarada Prasan Mohanty, Regional Director, RBI Bhubaneswar. Other dignitaries included Anita Patnaik, General Manager, RBI; Gaurav Shivaji Isalwar, Collector and District Magistrate, Bolangir; Goutam Patra, GM-cum-Convener, SLBC Odisha; Surya Kanta Dash, Chairman, Utkal Grameen Bank; and Bishnu Prasad Dash, General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC), Bolangir.

With over 200 participants, the event saw active engagement from MSME associations like OASME, OIA, UCCI, and Industry Federation, along with three Agri FPOs, entrepreneurs, and representatives from key financial institutions such as NABARD and major banks operating in the district.

The Town Hall served as a platform for MSME entrepreneurs to voice their concerns and receive guidance on challenges such as accessing bank finance and navigating banking processes. An interactive session facilitated open dialogue, allowing participants to share feedback and gain clarity on various issues.

This initiative underscores RBI’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth by addressing the needs of MSMEs, a vital segment for economic development.
