As the sacred rivers Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati merge at Prayagraj, millions of devotees gather for Maha Kumbh 2025, a spiritual journey that embodies faith, devotion, and self-discovery. However, the pilgrimage comes with its challenges. To ease the journey and enhance the experience for devotees, Reliance Industries Limited has introduced ‘Teerth Yatri Seva,’ a comprehensive initiative designed to ensure the well-being, safety, and convenience of the pilgrims.
Guided by its ‘We Care’ philosophy, Reliance is offering an extensive range of services, including nutritious meals, medical care, transportation assistance, safety measures, connectivity enhancements, and essential amenities to facilitate a smooth and fulfilling pilgrimage.
“It is said that when we serve Teerth Yatris, we too are blessed. Our services at this once-in-a-millennium event aim to support the most vulnerable pilgrims on their spiritual journey,” said Anant Ambani, Director, Reliance Industries Limited. “At Maha Kumbh, the world’s largest religious and cultural congregation, we have an opportunity to serve, to ensure health, welfare, and safety for lakhs of pilgrims, and to make their journey safer, smoother, and easier.”
Reliance has undertaken multiple initiatives to facilitate a seamless experience for devotees through the following eight key services:
Reliance’s Anna Seva program is nourishing thousands of pilgrims daily with hot, nutritious meals served at various akharas. Volunteers are also distributing water and assisting devotees in every possible way, embodying the ‘We Care’ spirit. Recognizing the need for comprehensive healthcare, Reliance Foundation has set up 24×7 medical care facilities, including separate wards for men and women, OPDs, and dental services. Additionally, free sanitary napkins are being provided to women pilgrims to address their specific needs.
For easier mobility, Reliance has arranged electric vehicles and golf carts to help the elderly and those with limited mobility navigate the expansive Kumbh Mela grounds. Special transportation is also being provided from Prayagraj to the Sangam, ensuring smooth access for all pilgrims. Prioritizing safety on the sacred waters, Reliance, in collaboration with the district administration, is supplying life jackets and reinforcing safety measures for boatmen and Jal Police to prevent accidents on the holy rivers.
To offer rest and relaxation during the arduous journey, Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL) has established Campa Ashrams, designated rest zones designed to provide comfort to weary travelers. Pilgrims can also navigate the massive venue with ease, thanks to clearly marked directional boards strategically placed throughout the Kumbh Mela grounds.
Ensuring seamless communication, Jio has significantly enhanced connectivity in Prayagraj by installing new 4G and 5G BTS, upgrading infrastructure, and deploying transportable towers and small cell solutions at key locations. The installation of new Optical Fibre further ensures uninterrupted connectivity for all. Recognizing the invaluable service of the police, Reliance is also providing water at police booths, setting up barricades, and constructing watch towers to support law enforcement in maintaining security.
To extend the reach and impact of these services, Reliance is collaborating with several renowned spiritual organizations, including Sharada Peeth Math Trust Dwarka, Shri Shankaracharya Utsav Sevalaya Foundation, Niranjani Akhara, Prabhu Premi Sangh Charitable Trust, and Parmarth Niketan Ashram. This partnership ensures that a broader segment of the pilgrim community benefits from the initiative.
