Shivdutt Das appointed as Managing Director of Vishwa Samudra Group, ushering in a new era of leadership

In a significant leadership shift, the $3 billion Hyderabad-based conglomerate, VishwaSamudra Group, has announced Shivdutt Das as the new Managing Director of its holding company. Alongside Das, Lakshmi Priyadarshini Chinta has been appointed Vice Chairperson, further strengthening the leadership team under the guidance of Promoter Chairman Chinta Sasidhar.

Shivdutt Das, previously the Group Executive Director, brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at United Spirits, ICICI Prudential, Bharti Axa Life Insurance, Tata AIA, Reliance Capital, and DY Patil Healthcare. As a member of the FICCI National Executive, Das has also been an early investor in several start-ups, including Swiggy pre-IPO. His appointment as Managing Director marks him as one of the youngest in his peer group, with a distinguished background in economics and philanthropy, highlighted by his recently published book “Dugga Dugga” on Durga Puja’s cultural significance.

Lakshmi Priyadarshini Chinta, an accomplished mathematician and advocate for educational reform, steps in as Vice Chairperson. Her leadership in CSR initiatives, particularly through the Chinta Sasidhar Foundation, has been instrumental in projects like Nandha Gokulam, which focuses on conserving indigenous bull breeds and supporting rural education. Her appointment reflects the group’s commitment to gender inclusion and holistic growth.
