New Delhi, August 01, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL), the two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, has achieved an extraordinary milestone in July 2024. The company reported record-breaking monthly sales, with a total of 1,16,714 units sold, marking an impressive 8% increase from the 1,07,836 units sold in July 2023.
In a landmark achievement, SMIPL surpassed the 1-lakh unit mark for the first time in its history. The domestic market alone contributed 1,00,602 units in July 2024, reflecting a robust 25% growth from the previous year’s 80,309 units. However, the company saw a decline in exports, with 16,112 units shipped abroad compared to 27,527 units in the same month last year.
Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director of Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd., expressed his enthusiasm about the record sales sating, “Suzuki Motorcycle India has achieved its highest-ever sales figure of over 1.16 lakh scooters and motorcycles in July 2024. Driven by strong domestic demand, our sales surged by 25% this month, breaking the 1-lakh unit barrier for the first time. I extend my deepest gratitude to our loyal customers, dedicated dealer network, and esteemed business partners for their unwavering support, which has been instrumental in reaching this milestone.”
To celebrate the festive season, SMIPL refreshed its scooter lineup in India. The company introduced the Suzuki Access 125 and Suzuki Burgman Street in special festive colors, and launched the 2024 Suzuki Avenis featuring four new color combinations and striking futuristic graphics.
