Ranchi, September 17, 2024 (TBB Bureau): NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters is launching its Swachhta Pakhwada 2024, running from September 17 to October 2, as part of a nationwide initiative by the Indian government to promote cleanliness and sanitation across various sectors.
The event commenced on Tuesday with the administration of the Swachhta Pledge by Animesh Jain, Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining) and Chief Executive Officer (NML). He was joined by Naveen Jain, Chief General Manager (SSC – C&M), along with department heads, senior officials, and employees. The pledge called on all participants to commit to dedicating 100 hours a year, and at least two hours each week, towards promoting cleanliness and inspiring others to engage in the Swachhta Mission.
Throughout the fortnight, a range of activities will be held, including cleanliness drives in public areas, a poetry competition for local school children, workshops focused on waste segregation and management, and vibrant street plays aimed at raising awareness about sanitation.
The Swachhta Pakhwada at NTPC is set to not only enhance the local environment but also foster a culture of cleanliness and responsibility within the community. Through these efforts, NTPC aims to contribute meaningfully to the larger vision of a cleaner, healthier India.
