Ranchi, October 24, 2024 (TBB Bureau): In a heartfelt display of compassion and community spirit, the Swayamsidha Ladies Club of NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters, Ranchi, has taken a significant step towards empowering underprivileged women. With the mission of giving back to society, the Club partnered with Srijan Handicrafts to distribute clothes to women in need.
Srijan Handicrafts, founded by Shobha Kumari, a differently-abled entrepreneur, has been transforming lives in the Dibdih slum area. Through skill development programs like doll-making and bag-making, the initiative enables women to earn a livelihood, fostering financial independence.
This partnership marks a meaningful collaboration between Swayamsidha and Srijan, bringing immediate relief and long-term empowerment to the beneficiaries.
The welfare initiative was spearheaded by Rekha Jain, President of Swayamsidha Ladies Club, NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters who emphasized the importance of collective action to uplift society’s underprivileged. “When we work in unity, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most,” she said.
This initiative not only provided clothing to those in need but also highlighted the power of community-led efforts in driving social change, making a positive impact on the lives of many women in Ranchi.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from several key members of the Club, including Vice President & Welfare In-charge Sikha Rastogi, Cultural In-charge Poornima Shrikhande, General Secretary Deepa Keshri, Cultural Secretary Anita Prasad, and Welfare Secretary Mansa Verma.
