Bhubaneswar, September 19, 2024 (TBB Bureau): In a significant step toward enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring reliable power distribution, TPCODL inaugurated its state-of-the-art Circle Area Power System Control Centre (APSCC) in Cuttack on Tuesday. The SCADA-enabled APSCC was inaugurated by Arvind Singh, CEO of TPCODL, marking a milestone in the company’s mission to consolidate its operational control and elevate service standards.
The SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system integrated into the APSCC allows real-time monitoring and control of power distribution networks. This advanced system provides immediate visibility into power system operations, enabling operators to swiftly identify issues and implement corrective measures. By continuously monitoring energy consumption patterns, SCADA also empowers TPCODL to implement demand-side management strategies effectively.
One of the key advantages of the APSCC is its ability to offer real-time updates through SCADA, enabling the operational team to swiftly communicate with consumers via SMS and the company’s centralized call center. This ensures faster resolution of power outages, significantly reducing downtime and enhancing the overall reliability of the power supply.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Singh emphasized the strategic importance of the new facility. “This milestone is a leap towards our organizational goal of achieving the highest standards of operational excellence, safety, and reliability,” he said.
The APSCC is expected to bolster the efficiency of TPCODL’s operations in Cuttack, improving response times and ensuring a more reliable power supply for consumers across the region.
