In a significant move to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted power supply, Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) has successfully commissioned a new 33 kV Sarpeswar feeder, a key infrastructure project aimed at benefiting over 30,000 consumers. Spanning 5.4 kilometres, the new feeder connects the Cuttack Brajabiharipur OPTCL Grid to Nuapatna, utilizing state-of-the-art technology designed to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the electricity supply.

This new feeder will provide improved power distribution to the Sarpeswar, Khuntuni, Athgarh, and Gurudijhatia regions, including rural areas and several industrial establishments. It is expected to address ongoing voltage fluctuation issues and significantly boost the overall power supply stability for these regions. The project marks a milestone in TPCODL’s commitment to meeting the growing energy demands of its consumer base, particularly in rural and industrial sectors.

The construction of the feeder, however, was not without its challenges. One of the major hurdles faced during the project was the construction across the Mahanadi River. Of the total 5.4 km, 2.6 km of the feeder was built along the challenging terrain adjacent to the Madhusudan Bridge, requiring special engineering solutions. TPCODL ensured that the work was carried out with utmost precision and safety, even in these difficult conditions, by arranging for a dedicated boat for workers and implementing rigorous safety measures throughout the process.

As the summer season intensifies power demand across the region, TPCODL has placed a high priority on strengthening its electricity infrastructure to meet the increasing load. With the operationalization of the Sarpeswar feeder, TPCODL has not only resolved long-standing power issues but also secured a future-ready and efficient supply system, ensuring that consumers in these areas experience minimal disruptions and enjoy a reliable power supply.

The commissioning of this feeder further underscores TPCODL’s role in driving improvements in the region’s power distribution network, supporting both residential and industrial growth while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. With this initiative, TPCODL continues to demonstrate its dedication to improving energy access for all, especially in underserved areas.

As the utility moves forward with further infrastructure enhancements, TPCODL remains committed to its mission of delivering sustainable and uninterrupted power to its vast consumer base across Central Odisha.
