Berhampur, July 4, 2024 (TBB Bureau): In a significant stride towards promoting menstrual health and sustainability, Tata Power Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) organized a pioneering Menstrual Health & Hygiene Session at KC Girls’ High School, Gosaninuagaon, as part of the Tata Sustainability Month celebrations. Over 100 young girls participated enthusiastically in this transformative event, gaining essential knowledge about maintaining cleanliness and hygiene during menstruation.
As a testament to their commitment to sustainability, TPSODL distributed innovative reusable sanitary napkins to the students. These eco-friendly alternatives, designed to last over a year, not only address environmental concerns but also promote health-conscious choices among young women.
The event was graced by Manju Garg, affectionately known as ‘Madam CEO,’ whose presence and impassioned address on menstrual health and hygiene resonated deeply with the students. Garg addressed prevailing societal taboos surrounding menstruation, offering invaluable advice on overcoming them. Her empowering words inspired the girls to embrace their womanhood confidently while prioritizing their health.
The initiative also witnessed active participation from the TPSODL medical team and dedicated volunteers, who played a pivotal role in educating the students and facilitating the distribution of reusable sanitary napkins.
