Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held a significant interaction with the chief executive officers (CEOs) of over 100 companies on Tuesday, emphasizing the state’s ambitions for industrialization and seeking their active cooperation.
The session took place during the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, inaugurated earlier in the day by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The CEOs represented diverse sectors, including steel, green energy, renewable energy, semiconductors, chemicals, IT, cement, and others.
Addressing the gathering, Majhi reiterated Odisha’s business-friendly environment, stating that “now is the best time to invest in Odisha.” He highlighted the state’s impressive GDP performance, describing it as the highest in the country, and attributed the growth to divine blessings from Lord Jagannath and robust support from the central government.
“For Prime Minister Modi, Odisha is a land of possibilities. With vast natural resources and mineral wealth, there is immense scope for investment in every district of the state,” Majhi said. He underscored the government’s target to establish industries across all 30 districts, including border regions like Malkangiri, by enhancing infrastructure in railways, roads, and ports.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the initiatives would catalyze economic growth in underdeveloped regions and generate substantial employment for local youth. Reflecting on the government’s achievements, Majhi added, “Although our government is just seven months old, we have already hosted several nationally significant programs in Odisha.”
Majhi also acknowledged the Prime Minister’s motivating address at the conclave, which he said inspired entrepreneurs to invest in the state. “Modi ji has envisioned Odisha as the growth engine of a developed India. With your cooperation, we can fulfill this goal,” he told the CEOs.
Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, who delivered the welcome address, assured industry leaders of the government’s unwavering commitment to providing all necessary support for setting up industries in the state.
