New Delhi, May 20, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, on Monday announced the appointment of its CEO, John Slaven, as Vice-Chairman of the International Aluminium Institute (IAI). In his new role, Slaven will lead global initiatives aimed at driving the sustainable transformation of the aluminium industry and promoting aluminium’s crucial role in the energy transition towards a Zero Carbon future.
Established in 1972, the International Aluminium Institute (IAI) is the sole organization representing the primary aluminium industry globally. The IAI focuses on enhancing awareness of the industry’s operations, advocating for responsible production practices, and highlighting the significant benefits of using aluminium in developing greener technologies. Its membership includes the world’s leading bauxite, alumina, and aluminium companies, and it maintains the most comprehensive global data on the aluminium industry, with over 40 years of analysis on production, consumption, energy use, and environmental impact.
