Vedanta Aluminium empowers India’s Youth with industry experience through PM Internship Scheme

Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, celebrated National Youth Day by reinforcing its dedication to youth empowerment through multi-faceted initiatives, including active participation in the Government of India’s Prime Minister’s (PM) Internship Scheme. This initiative, coupled with targeted social impact projects, aims to create robust pathways for rural youth development.

As part of the PM Internship Scheme, Vedanta Aluminium has welcomed 18 interns to its world-renowned industrial operations in Jharsuguda, Odisha, and 4 interns at Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO) in Korba, Chhattisgarh. These internships offer an unparalleled opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge manufacturing environments, exposing them to advanced technologies and best industry practices. Interns are involved in critical projects spanning operations, sustainability, and digital innovation, equipping them with essential skills and preparing them for leadership roles in the industry.

Sonali Dash, an intern in the program, expressed her gratitude: “This internship at Vedanta Aluminium has been an enriching experience, allowing me to work on sustainability projects and gain valuable insights that will strengthen my career foundation.”

Echoing this sentiment, fellow intern Ujjal Patra remarked, “Working at Vedanta Aluminium has provided a practical learning experience, helping me bridge the gap between theory and application, while sharpening my technical and problem-solving skills.”
