JHARSUGUDA, JULY 15, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): Vedanta Aluminium, India’s leading producer of aluminium, has marked a significant milestone in healthcare accessibility by facilitating over 20,000 medical tests through its state-of-the-art diagnostic centres in Jharsuguda and Laikera. Since their inauguration in August 2023, these centres have emerged as pivotal hubs for comprehensive healthcare services, bolstering diagnostic capabilities and raising healthcare standards across the region.
With an investment of Rs 36 crore, these centres have been instrumental in improving healthcare accessibility in Jharsuguda and Laikera, serving the local communities effectively. The Diagnostic Centres occupy 0.74 acres of land in Jharsuguda and 0.5 acres in Laikera, featuring state-of-the-art infrastructure across a built-up area of 10,000 sq ft and 5,000 sq ft, respectively.
The centres offer a comprehensive range of pathology services, including ECG and X-ray, while the MRI and CT facilities at the Jharsuguda centre contribute significantly to enhanced healthcare delivery and diagnostics in the regions. Services are provided at nominal charges, aligned with the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) rates, with laboratory services available round the clock and radiology services operating from 8 AM to 8 PM.
Recently, members of the Western Odisha and Jharsuguda Senior Citizen Associations, led by Presidents Tahlu Sahu and Balgovind Mishra, availed themselves of the medical services firsthand. During their visit, the members were given a comprehensive tour of the infrastructure and briefed on the cutting-edge health screening facilities. Recognizing the quality of the facilities, the association members have agreed to undergo their annual routine health check-ups at the Diagnostic Centres, taking advantage of the services offered at rates aligned with the CGHS and the State Government’s Nidaan Scheme.
