Vedanta Aluminium organizes free eye test camp for 700 drivers in Jharsuguda

Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, reaffirmed its commitment to workforce well-being and road safety by conducting a free eye test camp for drivers in Jharsuguda, Odisha. Organized in collaboration with Trilochan Netralaya, Jharsuguda, the initiative aimed to ensure early detection of vision impairments and promote safer driving conditions.

Through this initiative, 700 drivers have undergone comprehensive eye screening, with those in need of corrective measures receiving free prescription glasses. Vedanta Aluminium plans to expand the initiative further, targeting a total of 1,000 drivers to ensure they have access to essential eye care support for their daily operations.

Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Sunil Gupta, COO of Vedanta Aluminium, said, “Our drivers are integral to our operations, and their well-being is of utmost importance to us. Ensuring good vision is a crucial step towards helping them perform their duties effectively and reducing road risks.”

Drivers who participated in the camp expressed their appreciation for the initiative. Bajrang Yadav, one of the beneficiaries, shared his gratitude, saying, “I want to thank Vedanta for organizing this eye check-up camp. It was a thoughtful initiative that will benefit the driver community. Receiving free glasses has been helpful, and it’s reassuring to know that our health and safety are being taken care of by the company.”
