New Delhi, September 26, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Vedanta Aluminium has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first and only company in India to receive Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for aluminium wire rods and rolled products, effective today. This certification applies to products manufactured at Vedanta’s BALCO facility in Chhattisgarh and its unit in Jharsuguda, Odisha.
On August 31, 2023, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Ministry of Mines, introduced new regulations for the quality control of aluminium and aluminium alloys. With the mandatory BIS certification deadline set for September 26, 2024, Vedanta Aluminium has proactively ensured compliance, underscoring its commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards and reinforcing its leadership position in the aluminium industry.
