Paradip, October 28, 2024 (TBB Bureau): In alignment with the Central Vigilance Commission’s directives, the Paradip Port Authority (PPA) inaugurated Vigilance Awareness Week on October 28, set to continue through November 3, 2024. This year’s theme, “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity,” reflects the organization’s commitment to upholding ethical standards and fostering transparency within its operations.
The observance began with PPA Chairman P.L. Haranadh administering the Integrity Pledge to employees at the PPA Administrative Building. Emphasizing the importance of integrity in his address, Haranadh remarked, “Maintaining the highest standards of honesty and transparency in our work is essential for the nation’s economic growth. We must consistently aim to provide excellent service to our customers, addressing their genuine needs and driving organizational progress.”
To kick-start the week, a spot quiz on vigilance awareness was organized, engaging employees in testing their knowledge on anti-corruption practices. The event also featured a compelling skit titled “Yama Darbar” by the cultural group CANMASS, creatively depicting the societal issues posed by corruption and resonating strongly with the audience.
Throughout the week, PPA has scheduled various activities to instill awareness among employees and the local community. Competitions in elocution, essay writing, drawing, and fancy dress are being organized for local school students, fostering a culture of integrity from a young age. Additionally, employees are encouraged to take the integrity e-pledge online via the CVC and PPA websites.
PPA has also strategically placed hoardings and digital displays around the locality to broaden public engagement, while each department conducts stakeholder meetings focused on corruption awareness and grievance redressal. As part of a larger campaign leading up to Vigilance Awareness Week, departments have also addressed operational issues to strengthen internal accountability and transparency.
This year’s Vigilance Awareness Week at Paradip Port stands as a significant reminder of the role each individual plays in building a nation rooted in integrity and ethical conduct.
