Bhubaneswar, December 2, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Governor of Odisha Raghubar Das commended the transformative Yuva Sangam initiative for advancing the vision of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ during an inspiring interaction with a delegation of 50 students from Maharashtra. The students, representing diverse higher education institutions, are on an exposure trip to Odisha as part of the fifth phase of the Yuva Sangam program.
Addressing the delegation, the Governor emphasized India’s unity amidst diversity and lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in fostering inter-state understanding through such initiatives. He remarked, “India reflects unity in diversity. The Yuva Sangam initiative supports the objective of strengthening unity among the youth of various regions.”
Das urged the students to immerse themselves in Odisha’s rich cultural heritage, traditions, and developmental strides. He encouraged them to share their experiences with peers in Maharashtra to strengthen inter-state relationships. Highlighting Odisha’s unique identity, he said, “Odisha is a perfect blend of tradition, tourism, and natural resources, offering immense potential for growth.”
He also noted the alignment of the New Education Policy with India’s ancient knowledge systems and global standards, urging youth to leverage opportunities like Yuva Sangam to explore the country’s diversity and broaden their horizons.
As part of their itinerary, the delegation visited the ICMR-Regional Medical Research Centre and Central Tool Room & Training Centre in Bhubaneswar, where they gained insights into Odisha’s advancements in scientific research and skill development. They also explored Ekamra Haat, a hub of Odisha’s exquisite handicrafts, gaining a firsthand experience of the state’s vibrant artisanal traditions.
The Yuva Sangam initiative under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ continues to foster mutual understanding and camaraderie among India’s youth, showcasing the nation’s collective strength through cultural exchange and learning.
