Sanjay Raut, the Indian politician from Shiv Sena and a Member of the Parliament, will occupy the hot seat in Rajat Sharma’s ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ programme. Raut will respond to questions from the inimitable TV icon Rajat Sharma, who has returned with new episodes of his longest-running TV show.
The interview will see Raut discuss several contentious issues such as split in the Shiv Sena party, Raj Thackeray; his thoughts on Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde, the BJP and Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut. The show will be telecast on India TV, at 10 PM on Saturday.
Regarding Shiv Sena split, Raut states that “Many of the Shiv Sena family members had left the party and tried to grow alone, but they were not successful.” Furthermore, he also describes Kangana Ranaut as a political actor.
When Raut was enquired on what advice he would like to give Mr. Shinde, he retorted that he cannot advise the chief minister because his advisors sit in Delhi now. Additionally, Raut was also asked to comment on his decision to call Mr. Amit Shah a dictator. He replied that Shah wants only the BJP to rule. “The rest of the parties, like Congress, Shiv Sena, Trinamool Congress etc., should cease to exist.’’
Since its inception in 1993, ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ has featured more than 1,000 prominent personalities sitting in its dock. Powerful politicians, movie superstars, leading athletes, and famous singers to spiritual gurus, no one has been able to escape the probing questions of Rajat Sharma, who has always delivered with a smile and with precision, too.
The iconic show has played host to Presidents, Prime Ministers, Cabinet Ministers, and Chief Ministers. ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ is the only show that has the distinction of getting all three Bollywood Khans together on the same stage.
There is no other show in the Indian TV industry where eminent guests lay bare their raw emotions, vulnerabilities, and unrestrained opinions with such ease. Moreover, viewers worldwide can now watch the programme, including in the US and the United Arab Emirates. The new episode began on January 7, 2023 and has already won an average weekly audience of 11 million on TV and collected 98 million gross videos on digital platforms.
