The Government e-Marketplace (GeM) has achieved a major milestone by enabling the hiring of over 1 million manpower resources for government organizations in the fiscal year 2024-25. This milestone reinforces GeM’s role in revolutionizing public procurement through enhanced transparency, compliance, and efficiency.
GeM’s manpower outsourcing service offers a streamlined solution for government buyers, allowing them to hire skilled and unskilled personnel through a network of over 33,000 service providers. The platform facilitates the engagement of professionals across various roles, including Security Personnel, Horticulture Staff, Multi-Tasking Staff, Data Entry Operators, and Facility Management Professionals.
Ajay Bhadoo, CEO of GeM, highlighted the significance of this achievement, stating, “GeM has harnessed digital capabilities to become a one-stop-shop for government procurement. Launched in 2016, GeM serves as a comprehensive digital procurement platform for government buyers. Initially offering basic services such as manpower hiring, security, and sanitation, the platform has since expanded to over 330 service categories, including advanced offerings like drone services, AR/VR solutions, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
