Leaflets were distributed among villagers for creating awareness about Vision Centre and eye care facility available in the Block.

An awareness session was conducted by Dr. Sindhu Nandani, Ophthalmologist from Trilochan Netralaya to make people aware about various eye ailments and ways to treat them.

Gayatri Sahoo, a visually impaired girl, recited a poem on eye healthcare which was appreciated by the audience.

Among others, Sitanjali Sahu, Samiti Member of  Bomoloi; ; Sweta Upadhayay, Head – CSR, Aditya Aluminium; Manoranjan Behera, CSR, Aditya Aluminium; and members of the CSR Team and Vision Foundation were present on the occasion.

World Sight Day, observed annually on the second Thursday of October, is a global event meant to draw attention on blindness and vision impairment. The theme for World Sight Day-2021 chosen by International Agency for Prevention of Blindness is #LoveYourEyes, which aims to highlight the importance of being aware of one’s own eye health, and to encourage everyone to go for an eye test, taking necessary precautions, and to increase awareness about eye care issues that impact every age group, especially those who are vulnerable — young, school-going children, the elderly, and those with diabetes.
