BHUBANESWAR, JULY 1, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): Centurion University of Technology & Management’s (CUTM) Bhubaneswar campus witnessed a groundbreaking fusion of innovation and expertise during a two-day national conference-cum-workshop on “Advancement in Animal Handling and Generative AI for Pre-Clinical Studies,” sponsored by AYUSH.

Held on June 28-29, the event attracted over 300 students and 100 faculty members, marking a significant leap in academic and research excellence.

The inauguration ceremony, graced by Chief Guest Professor Hirendra Nath Ghosh, Director of NISER, Bhubaneswar, set the tone for the conference. Prof. Supriya Pattanayak, Vice Chancellor of CUTM, emphasized the conference’s significance, underscoring its role in advancing research in animal handling and AI-driven pre-clinical studies.

Dean of the Pharmacy department, Professor Gurudutta Pattnaik, and Dean of the Department of Paramedics and Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Soumya Jal, delivered inspiring addresses outlining the conference’s objectives. Pro-VC-Academics Prof. Biswaji Mishra, Pro VC-Administration Prof. Ajaya Kumar Nayak, Director of the campus Prof. Jagannath Padhi, and other dignitaries were also present, highlighting the event’s importance.

Featuring comprehensive scientific sessions, workshops, oral presentations, and poster sessions, the conference provided a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange. A notable highlight was the hybrid-mode hands-on workshop, equipping students with practical animal handling skills and emphasizing Generative AI’s pivotal role in pre-clinical research.

The event concluded with cultural performances and felicitations for resource persons, reflecting the conference’s vibrant spirit. Associate Dean Dr. Himansu Bhusan Samal and Associate Prof. Dr. Monali Pryadarshini Mishra extended heartfelt thanks to participants, ensuring the event’s seamless execution.
