Colleges and universities in Odisha will reopen on January 11 after remaining closed for nearly nine months due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The announcement to this effect was made by the State Higher Education Department on Sunday.
With improvement in the pandemic situation, the universities and government as well as non-government degree colleges under the Higher Education Department have been directed to commence physical classroom teaching for students of 2020-21 Final Year Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses from January 11.
The physical classes shall be held in regular manner to cover all chapters of the syllabus irrespective of coverage of some chapters by online mode and whenever possible, the physical classroom teaching shall be recorded and shared with absentee students.
In order to compensate the lost days, physical classroom teaching shall be conducted on all days except the examination period, Sundays, Republic Day, Saraswati Puja and Utkal Divas, the Department notification said.
All Covid-19 guidelines will be strictly adhered to while conducting the physical classes, it added.
