Vedanta Aluminium, India’s premier aluminium producer, orchestrated an Annual Safety Fortnight program meticulously designed in alignment with the stringent guidelines set forth by the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS). Engaging over 400 diligent employees and esteemed business partners, the fortnight-long initiative bore the resounding theme of ‘Surakhsha Niyamo Ka Karein Palan, Na Hogi Durghatna Na Honge Aap Pareshan’ (Adhere to safety rules, circumvent accidents, and avert distress).
The inauguration of this significant event was marked by a flag hoisting ceremony, seamlessly transitioning into a ‘Prabhat Pheri’ rally, where impassioned participants fervently underscored the cardinal importance of adhering to stringent safety protocols. Subsequent to this ceremonious kickoff, a meticulously curated array of safety-centric activities unfolded over the fortnight, encompassing immersive mock drills, insightful safety dialogues, intellectually stimulating safety quizzes, and enlightening awareness programs, all meticulously tailored to underscore the indispensable role of embracing and internalizing safety as an indispensable ethos.
A poignant highlight of this comprehensive program was an external safety evaluation meticulously conducted by discerning officials hailing from the esteemed Ib Valley Coal Mines, a subsidiary of the illustrious Mahanadi Coal Limited, operating under the aegis of Coal India Limited. This rigorous evaluation served as a compelling testament to Vedanta Aluminium’s unwavering dedication to upholding the pinnacle of safety standards across its expansive mining operations, characterized by a steadfast commitment to transparency and meticulous diligence at every juncture.
Amidst the proceedings of this distinguished event, due accolades were showered upon exemplary employees for their invaluable contributions towards fostering a culture of safety within their respective departments, thereby serving as torchbearers of inspiration and catalyzing a collective impetus towards prioritizing workplace safety.
