Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd. has taken up various programs in recent years to impart technical training to the local youth and making them employable. Under this initiative, Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing of DCBL, and NABARD Sundargarh district office joined hands to conduct a skill development training program at Rajgangpur Club on Friday to empower young women and girls of rural areas to be self-reliant in business.
Around 105 young men and women from villages in and around Lanjiberna and Rajgangpur participated in the program.
Tapas Kumar Behera, NABARD official of Sundargarh district joined the event as the Chief Guest and Dr. Niladri Bhushan Padhi, Assistant Executive Director, DCBL joined as the Guest of Honour.
The training program is curated to make 230 unemployed youths of Sundargarh district’s Lanjiberna and Rajgangpur region employable by imparting quarterly training on Solar Technician, Assistant Electrician, Garment Making and CRM Domestic Non-Voice Trades.
Addressing the youths present at the event, Chief Guest Behera congratulated them for their hard work, determination and willpower to move towards a bright future.
Dr. Niladri Bhushan Padhi said that Dalmia Bharat Foundation not only aims at providing training, but also makes trainees employable.
DIKSHa (Dalmia Institute of Knowledge and Skill Harnessing) Manager Deepak Senapati highlighted various skill development programs offered by DIKSHa.
So far, more than 744 students have been imparted skill training at DIKSHa Center at Rajgangpur. Many of the trainees have also got employment in various companies. Other DIKSHa Centers of Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF) located at Rourkela, Cuttack, Jajpur and Jharsuguda are imparting training on various trades including General Duty Assistant, Retail Sale, Electrician, Beauty & Wellness and sewing machine operator etc.
