The Rajgangpur Unit of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited [DCBL] observed the National Road Safety Week from January 11 to 17 in the plant premises and community.
The week-long event was inaugurated by DCBL Executive Director & Rajgangpur Unit Head Chetan Shrivastav in the presence of Cluster Logistics Head Abhishek Chandra, HOD-Safety Bijay Ketan Dash, Head-HR Deepanjan Dey, HOD- Security Subrat Kumar Pattnaik, and Packing House Head Sanjay Vichare.
As a part of the observance, various activities like skit on road safety was played by Security Team and Transport Supervisors, distribution of safety jackets to 200 drivers, etc was done on the first day of the week.
Message on road safety awareness was delivered by the dignitaries and IIC, Rajgangpur.
Over 100 drivers attended the Defensive Driving Training imparted on the second day of event and greatly benefited from the same. Health and Eye Check-up camp was held on the day three of the event. Over 150 drivers underwent health and eye check-up out of whom 34 were recommended to use spectacles which will be distributed free of cost by Dalmia Cement Bharat Limited. District Transport Officer (DTO) Sundargarh & Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI), Sundargarh joined on the fourth day of the event and shared their valuable insights on road safety with the drivers. They also enlightened the public on various schemes initiated by the State Govt on road accident (by unknown vehicles) deceased cases.
A quiz competition was held on day six which witnessed participation from the transport supervisors in large numbers.
On closing day, student groups from Dalmia Vidya Mandir School, Rajgangpur showcased their talent by singing song on road safety and playing a skit on road safety. The skit was very heart touching and sent a positive message to the spectators. Transport supervisors had also played skit on road safety. A quiz competition on road safety was also organized for the drivers during the event followed by prize distribution to the winners (drivers & transport supervisors).
