Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd has tied up with HP to relaunch its digital literacy program in Rajgangpur and Kutra Blocks to promote computer literacy among rural communities under its CSR initiatives.
To recall, the digital literacy project was inaugurated last year by Sundargarh Superintendent of Police Sagarika Nath, and around 343 students of 43 peripheral villages were imparted computer education through this program.
The program which was temporarily put on hold since April this year due to the rising Covid-19 cases, has been resumed by Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd from the this month.
Currently, computer training is being imparted to 40 students of Katang, Lanjiberna, Kheramuta villages, SHG members, ward members, etc.
The digital learning laboratory, popularly known as ‘World on Wheels’ project, offers training on computer related knowledge including internet surfing, e-mail, internet banking, and search for Aadhaar card, ration card, driving license, land records and financial inclusion. While it’s a costly affair for rural students, unemployed youth and women to afford for computer education, this training offered by Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd has proved to be a blessing for them.
The company authorities have reiterated their commitment to bring about large scale transformation in the field of computer education by offering computer training to all sections of people residing in rural areas.
