A reading movement aimed at cultivating a special interest in the Odia language among students will be launched at the 1st World Odia Language Conference. A mobile library will be set up at various locations within the conference venue, along with a dedicated mobile library housed within a bus containing reference books. Additionally, five library vehicles will be stationed at the conference venue. Bakul Foundation in Bhubaneswar will provide technical support for this initiative.
Each book in the mobile library and other reading materials will include bookmarks with timeless messages from renowned personalities, enriching the reading experience. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore and read from these resources over the course of three days.
Furthermore, a pocket book will be created to encourage reading habits and foster interest among students in the language, art, culture, and history of Odisha. This pocket book will feature messages from notable figures, accompanied by a diary section to enhance the reading experience. Readers will be able to jot down what they learned, which paragraphs resonated with them, and how far they progressed in the book. A calendar highlighting the birth months of various famous individuals, along with special messages, will also be available during the conference.
The conference is scheduled to take place at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar from February 3rd to 5th. Participants including students, lecturers, faculty members, researchers, and intellectuals are expected to attend the event. A diverse range of conferences will be organized to promote the language and generate interest among attendees. Every participant will leave with a sense of pride in their Odia heritage, carrying with them cherished memories from the event.
