In a significant push to infrastructure development in Odisha, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will visit the state on April 19 to inaugurate a series of national highway projects. The announcement was made by state BJP vice-president Golak Mohapatra on Monday.

Gadkari is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar for a day-long visit and will formally inaugurate the projects at a public event to be held at Baramunda Ground. These projects are expected to boost road connectivity, facilitate economic growth, and improve transportation networks across the state.

Calling it a “golden era for Odisha,” Mohapatra emphasized that the visit underscores the Centre’s commitment to accelerating development in the state under the leadership of the “double-engine government.”

He further noted that the Union government is placing a strong focus on Odisha’s all-round progress. Referring to the recent visit of Union Health Minister JP Nadda — who launched the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in the state — Mohapatra said such initiatives reflect the Centre’s resolve to strengthen healthcare and infrastructure simultaneously.
