Gopalpur Port’s ‘Concern for Community Health’ drive serves locals in need of medical care

Gopalpur Ports Limited (GPL) on Saturday conducted a mobile health camp at K Aryapalli village of Aryapally Panchayat today as part of its “Concern for Community Health” drive.

It’s the third such health camp organised by GPL as part of its CSR initiative, after successful organisation of two mega mobile health camps at Haripur-Bandar Village and Kalipalli Upper Primary School.

In this health camp, free diagnostic, tests, counseling and medicines were provided to the villagers by specialist doctors of Obstetrics, Paediatrics and General Medicine. About 200 people discussed their health issues with the doctors and were offered medical advice and free medicines.

On this occasion, a clean-up drive was also organized where many officials of the Port, and volunteers participated to clean the surrounding area and to create awareness on cleanliness.

The health camp was attended by Sharmistha Pradhan, Chairman, Chhatrapur NAC; Ajay Kumar Mishra, Vice President (HR & IR) and  Vikash Kumar, CFO of Gopalpur Port, Dr. Subash Chandra Sahu, Prashant Kumar Kar, many local peoples.

Commenting on the initiative, Gopalpur Ports Limited Chief Executive Officer VJ Rao said, “We are consistently trying to provide better living standards and reliable health care services to the local communities; and in the coming days this service will be extended to more and more people by the GPL. We are always committed to provide good healthcare services to the people residing in the periphery of Gopalpur Port.”

Vice President (HR & IR) Ajay Kumar Mishra said that this mobile healthcare service is a unique initiative to make healthcare services accessible to the people of GPL periphery. The cooperation and involvement of the local people have greatly inspired Gopalpur Port.

On the request of Aryapalli villagers, a tree plantation program was also organized in which the villagers and the Port staff actively participated.

Mishra informed that in the coming days more such plantation programmes would be taken up near Aryapalli Village to protect the coast.

Local leaders and villagers appreciated the CSR initiatives of Gopalpur Port and requested the Port authorities to organise more such programmes.
