Government committed to serving the people, first Cabinet decision dedicated to poor: Vaishnaw

New Delhi, June 11, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Ashwini Vaishnaw assumed charge as the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting on Tuesday, underscoring the government’s commitment to uplifting the poor. In his address to the media, Vaishnaw emphasized that the administration led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains dedicated to improving the lives of underprivileged citizens.

Highlighting the Cabinet’s recent decision, Vaishnaw announced the construction of 3 crore rural and urban houses, reflecting the government’s priority to empower the economically disadvantaged. “The first Cabinet decision on the first day of the Government is devoted to the empowerment of the poor. This demonstrates our unwavering commitment to serve the people of this country,” the Minister stated.

Expressing gratitude for his new role, Vaishnaw thanked Prime Minister Modi for the opportunity to lead the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. “I am honoured to serve in this capacity and look forward to contributing to the government’s mission of inclusive development,” he said.

The Minister was warmly welcomed by Secretary Sanjay Jaju and other senior officials from the Ministry and its Media Units. This warm reception marks the beginning of Vaishnaw’s tenure, during which he aims to strengthen the ministry’s efforts in effectively communicating government policies and initiatives to the public.
