Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati unfurls Tricolour at Odisha’s state-level Republic Day celebrations

The Governor of Odisha, Hari Babu Kambhampati, led the state-level Republic Day celebrations by unfurling the national flag at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. The event, marked by grandeur and patriotic fervor, featured an impressive parade and cultural performances that drew a large audience.

Governor Kambhampati took the salute from 43 marching contingents, which included 17 armed forces and 26 civilian groups representing various educational institutions. The security forces participating in the parade included the Odisha Police, Border Security Force (BSF), Odisha State Armed Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), among others.

Adding to the splendor, students of Maharishi College of Natural Law performed a breathtaking daredevil show that captivated the audience. The Odisha Skating Academy also showcased an engaging performance, while artist troupes presented traditional cultural programs such as Sambalpuri, Ghoda, and tribal dances. A contingent from the neighboring Jharkhand Police also took part in the parade, exemplifying inter-state camaraderie.

Twelve vibrant tableaux displayed by various state government departments highlighted key themes and flagship programs, showcasing Odisha’s progress and developmental initiatives.

On his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Governor Kambhampati extended his Republic Day greetings, writing, “Celebrate the spirit of our nation and the pride of our constitution.”

Across the state, similar celebrations were held with district-level functions led by dignitaries.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi hoisted the Tricolour in Cuttack, taking the salute at the district-level parade. Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida presided over Republic Day events in Puri and Khordha, respectively.

Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari attended the program in Sundargarh, while Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Nayak, School and Mass Education Minister Nityanand Gond, and Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra participated in celebrations in Subarnapur, Koraput, and Jagatsinghpur, respectively.

The Republic Day celebrations across Odisha reflected a spirit of unity, cultural vibrance, and patriotic pride, bringing people together to honor the nation’s rich heritage and constitutional ideals.
