The Bhubaneswar Chapter of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) organised ICSI Capital Market Week-2023 on the theme “Learnings from G20: Journey towards sustainable, competitive and holistic capital markets”, here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, former CGM of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Prof. Sarat Kumar Malik said that the Company Secretaries are doing a tremendous job for the Capital Market. The Company Secretary is a compliance officer, he said, while adding that the Indian Capital Markets have a greater role in G20, and SEBI is the best regulator in the world.
In his speech, Bombay Stock Exchange DGM (SME Business Development) Anand Chari elaborated the practical aspect and role of Company Secretary in dealing with the listing procedure of SME undertakings in SME platform of stock exchanges; and also encouraged the undertakings from Odisha to list their entities in SME platform and increase the visibility in the stock market.
ICSI Bhubaneswar Chapter Chairman Bimal Prasad Pattanaik, Treasurer Jyotirmaya Panigrahi and Managing Committee Member Nilakantha Samal also addressed the gathering.
The programme was attended by Company Secretaries, professionals, corporate executives and academicians.
The ICSI is hosting Capital Markets Week-2023 from April 22 to 29 this year through its Regional and Chapter Offices across the country.
