ICSI Bhubaneswar holds conference on ‘Empowering Educators’

As part of the Teachers’ Week celebrations, the Bhubaneswar Chapter of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) on Saturday organised a faculty development programme titled “Empowering Educators” here.

Delivering the inaugural address, Chief Guest of the conference and National Law University Odisha Vice Chancellor Prof. Ved Kumari said that teachers are nation builders and they have a greater responsibility towards society.

Speaking on the occasion, SOA Deemed to be University Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, who graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour, said that a teacher should be a role model for the students and and demonstrate as a leader in teaching and encourage the students to work in team. He further said that integrity and high ethical standards should be inculcated in a teacher.

In his keynote address, XIM University IT Professor Prof. Francis Castelino said that teachers have a lot of importance in the Information Technology system.

In the technical sessions of the conference, Prof. Ranjan Kumar Bal, former PG Council Chairman, Utkal University; and Dr. PK Mohanty, Academic Dean, XIM University spoke on “Empowering Educators and Skill of Teachers”.

ICSI Bhubaneswar Chapter Chairman Jyotirmoy Mishra and former chairman Rajendra Kumar Kar spoke on the Companies Act and Role of Company Secretaries.

A large number of teachers and professors from different schools, colleges, universities and educational institutions of Odisha attended the conference.
