As part of the observance of Teachers’ Week by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) across the country, its Bhubaneswar Chapter organised a teachers’ conference with the theme “Empowering Educators” through virtual platform, on Saturday.
Delivering the inaugural address, Prof. (Dr.) A K Das Mohapatra, Vice Chancellor, Odisha State Open University, spoke on the dedication and service provided by the teachers in India for nation building.
In his keynote address, Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur said that quality of higher education and quality of employment should be more innovation-based and less labour-based. He further said that India has the potential to get into the top rankings of the world for which NEP is a gateway.
During the technical sessions of the conference, Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Pratap Singh, Registrar, National Law University Odisha; Dr. Bhabani Prasad Panda, Director, KiiT School of Law; Dr. P K Mohanty, Dean, School of Commerce, Xavier University; Mayank Tiwari, Asst. Professor, NLUO; B K Sahu, DGM (Company Secretary), NALCO Ltd; Rajendra Kumar Kar, Chairman; and Ajaya Kumar Majhi, Secretary, ICSI Bhubaneswar Chapter spoke on Empowering Educators, Teachers’ Skills, New Companies Act, 2013, New Education Policy, etc.
A large number of teachers from different colleges, universities and educational institutions of Odisha attended the webinar.
