“Like drops of water makes the mighty ocean, individual best performances of departments in different parameters will make our Steel Plant best in the country,” said Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-Charge, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) while addressing at the 865th Mass Contact Exercise organised at Gopabandhu Auditorium, here on Friday.
In his address, Bhowmick discussed the targets set for RSP in the current financial year and exhorted the employees to continue to come forward with constructive suggestions. RSP has the potential to surpass many National benchmarks and we should collectively explore and aspire for more, he added. Stressing upon the safety aspects, he urged the employees to report, whenever and wherever they see any incidents related to violation of safety.
Speaking on the occasion, ED (Works) SR Suryawanshi stressed upon the importance of cost control and safety measures to be followed at the workplace. “If we take actions to eliminate the near miss cases, we will be in a position to have a safe working space,” he said. The ED (Works) also congratulated the RSP Collective for winning the Best Integrated Steel Plant Award in SAIL and said, “We can do it again”.
In his address, ED (P&A) PK Satapathy, spoke about the role that every employee plays to strengthen and unite the Steel Plant. He urged the employees to come forward on a platform like Mass Contact Exercise and other communication programs and air their ideas, suggestions as well as their concerns.
Earlier, a film titled “Shresth”, comprising production and financial performance of RSP in the last fiscal, targets, laurels and achievements and new facilities in the township made by Public Relations Department was screened. A status report on the suggestions and issues given by employees pertaining to workplace in the last Mass Contact Exercise was also shown. Later, during the interaction session, employees gave suggestions pertaining to production, productivity, maintenance and safety issues.
