The state-of-the-art Hot Strip Mill-2 (HSM-2) of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has received ISO 14001 certification for Environment Management Systems. The certification reaffirms the commitment of the steel plant to protect, preserve and sustainably manage the environment.
RSP ED (Works) SR Suryawanshi handed over the certificate to CGM (HSM-2) RK Muduli, in a programme organised at ED (Works) Conference Hall on Friday. Many senior officers of RSP were present on the occasion.
The ED (Works) congratulated the Hot Strip Mill-2 collective for this endeavour which was achieved in the shortest possible time.
The EMS Certification Process for the newly commissioned HSM-2 commenced in August 2023, coinciding with RSP’s ISO 14001 EMS Recertification Audit. Following a successful audit, the certificate was officially issued on 4th November, 2023. With the addition of HSM-2, the primary units covered by this certification now include Sintering Plant-II & III, Plate Mill, New Plate Mill, HSM-1 & 2, Special Plate Plant, Silicon Steel Mill, Pipe Plants, and Environment. Engineering Department. The associated units encompass HRD, MM (Stores), and Fire Services.
