Joda/Barbil, November 29, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Athletes from the Jindal Sports Hostel delivered a stellar performance at the 68th National School Games, securing five medals in Wushu. The prestigious event was held in Jammu from November 22 to 26, showcasing the exceptional talent and determination of the hostel’s young athletes.
Out of seven participants representing the hostel, Rajesh Nag (40 kg) clinched a Gold medal, while Madan Munda (45 kg), Ramesh Munda (48 kg), and Malini Munda (36 kg) each earned Silver medals. Adding to the accolades, Parbil Munda (52 kg) won a Bronze medal, further cementing the hostel’s reputation as a cradle for emerging sporting talent.
The Jindal Sports Hostel, an initiative of the Jindal Foundation, provides world-class residential facilities to 60 promising young athletes, balancing their sporting aspirations with academic pursuits. This triumph underscores the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to nurturing rural and tribal talent, particularly in the field of sports.

Over the past decade, the Jindal Foundation has been instrumental in promoting Wushu and kickboxing in the Keonjhar District, collaborating closely with the Odisha State Wushu Association. The Foundation’s initiatives have empowered countless athletes from the tribal regions of Joda and Barbil, helping them achieve recognition at both national and international levels.
In addition to Wushu, the Foundation’s programs have positively impacted over 30,000 rural and tribal athletes, supporting disciplines such as hockey, football, cricket, archery, and more. The success of athletes from Jindal Sports Hostel at the National School Games is a testament to the effectiveness of these initiatives and the potential of grassroots talent.
