Bhubaneswar, June 10, 2024 (TBB Bureau): In a momentous recognition of its exceptional contributions to community development through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) has been awarded the prestigious Kalinga CSR & Sustainability Excellence Award 2024 in the Gold Category.
The award ceremony took place in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, with Lebohang Valentine Mochaba, High Commissioner of the Kingdom of Lesotho, and Andalib Elias, Deputy High Commissioner of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, presenting the award.
Under the visionary leadership of Chairman Naveen Jindal, JSP has been at the forefront of implementing impactful social development projects aimed at improving the quality of life for communities.
Congratulating the team for this prestigious award, JSP Foundation Chairperson Shallu Jindal expressed her gratitude and commitment to continuing these efforts. “We at JSP are dedicated to fostering inclusive growth and making a positive impact on society through our diverse range of development programs. This recognition will further motivate us to pursue our initiatives for building a better and more equitable world,” she said.
Prashant Kumar Hota, JSP’s President and Group Head (CSR), highlighted the company’s broad spectrum of development projects across Odisha and other parts of India. “This award highlights our unwavering dedication to improving the quality of lives of people, especially from underprivileged sections of society,” Hota stated.
JSP Foundation, the social arm of JSP, has been implementing various programs in critical areas such as health, education, skill development, women empowerment, infrastructure development, and sports. Last year, JSP was also honored with the National CSR Award in two categories, cementing its status as a leader in corporate social responsibility.
The Kalinga CSR Excellence Award, instituted by the Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services (IQEMS), acknowledges organizations that have demonstrated excellence in CSR activities, making significant contributions to sustainable community development.
