Team Josh, comprising players from CGP, DRI, Coal-Washery, CHP, CHP Mines and others, emerged champion beating Team Royal Dynamos 1-0 in the thrilling final of the interdepartmental football tournament Futsal-2023, organised by Jindal Officer Club (JOC) of Jindal Steel and Power (JSP), Angul on Friday.
Executive Director In-Charge & Location Head of JSP’s Angul Unit Hridayeshwar Jha, Executive Director – Iron Making and Projects Damodar Mittal, and President – JSP & General Secretary-JOC DK Tripathi graced the occasion as guests and distributed trophies to the winners and runners-up teams in presence of EVP-CGP AN Tiwari, Sports-JOC General Secretary Ashish Kumar Singh and other departmental heads.
Vishnu Nandkumar of Team Royal Dynamos and Dibyendu Das from Team Josh were awarded the Golden Boot Award and Golden Gloves Award of the tournament, respectively. Bhaskar Halder of Team Josh was awarded the Golden Ball as the Player of the Tournament and his teammate Jhantu Bar was adjudged Player of the Final Match.
The annual soccer tournament played under floodlight, was inaugurated on October 6, in which six teams comprising the best players from various departments of JSP, Angul, participated and exhibited their sporting spirit and teamwork in the best possible manner.
