Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL)’s Barbil pellet plant joined the nation in celebrating the 75th Independence Day with great pomp and pageantry at Barbil on Sunday. Plant Head and Executive Vice President Brij Badhadra unfurled the national flag. Maintaining COVID appropriate protocols, the event was observed in the presence of all heads of departments, officials and employees of the Unit.
On the occasion, Badhadra read out the message of JSPL Chairman Naveen Jindal. In his message, Jindal lauded the performance of India’s contingent at Tokyo Olympics and expressed his gratitude towards all healthcare and frontline workers who helped the country fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
In its effort to make India Atmanirbhar in steel, “JSPL will expand the capacity of its Angul and Raigarh steel plant to increase its steelmaking capacity to 50 MTPA by 2030” said Jindal. “Very soon the company will be debt free,” he added.
He encouraged the youth to come forward and work with dedication to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat Roadmap.
Addressing the gathering, Badhadra congratulated the team for their contribution towards the excellent performance by JSPL’s Barbil Unit. “Pursuing the vision of our Chairman Shri Naveen Jindal, we are proud of our efforts of Nation Building,” he said.
At the end of the event, workers and employees of several departments of the plant were felicitated for their best performance.
A ten-member women team of peripheral villages that led and helped JSPL Foundation’s drive to stitch and distribute 50,000 cotton masks during this COVID pandemic, was awarded on the occasion.
The Angul Unit of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL) also celebrated the 75th Independence Day at OP Jindal School campus, Jindal Nagar Township with patriotic fervor. Angul location Head Hridayeshwar Jha hoisted the Tri-colour in presence of Executive Director Damodar Mittal, Sabyasachi Bandyopadhyay and other departmental heads.
Before addressing the gathering, Jha read out the message of the Chairman of JSPL.
Jha also congratulated every work force for their contribution in nation building and making JSPL’s Angul unit as one of the best performing units of the group. On this occasion, Jha specially congratulated those departments who have surpassed their earlier records, rewriting the success stories of JSPL with each passing day.
Similarly, DAV Savitri Jindal High-School at Badamahitala R & R colony of JSPL and O.P. Jindal Community College at Angul also celebrated the Independence Day with hoisting of the national flag at their respective premises.
JSPL’s Bhubaneswar office also celebrated the 75th Independence Day with hoisting of the tricolour by the JSPL President and Group Head (CSR) Prashant Kumar Hota, in presence of various employees.
