In a significant milestone for healthcare in Odisha, Kalinga Hospital Ltd. (KHL) in Bhubaneswar inaugurated its latest expansion, epitomizing a steadfast commitment to advancing healthcare standards within the community.
Inaugurated by Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, the newly unveiled Dr. SK Dash Block — solely funded by KHL Chairman Dr. Sita Kantha Dash — showcases a plethora of cutting-edge facilities aimed at bolstering patient care and treatment capabilities.
The expansion introduces an additional 50 beds, including 30 ICU beds, equipped with state-of-the-art amenities to ensure optimal patient comfort and care. Among the notable additions to the Kalinga Hospital infrastructure are four new operating theatres specializing in advanced Ortho Sciences, Neuro Sciences, Renal Sciences, and Gastro Sciences surgeries, reflecting a commitment to providing specialized treatment options.
Featuring advanced technology and upgraded equipment, the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) ensures the highest standards of hygiene and infection control across the hospital premises. The expansion also includes an upgraded kidney transplant unit with a focus on infection control, along with an advanced isolation critical care unit and centralized nursing system in the new intensive care unit (ICU) to optimize patient response times.
A dedicated day-care unit for gastro procedures, equipped with advanced equipment, promises streamlined services and enhanced patient convenience. The addition of a rehabilitation and physiotherapy unit underscores KHL’s holistic approach to patient care, emphasizing recovery and well-being beyond medical intervention. Additionally, the Precision Medicine Centre harnesses genetic information and advanced diagnostics to tailor personalized treatment plans for patients.
