National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Odisha Regional Office on Monday celebrated National Girl Child Day across five districts — Koraput, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Malkanagiri and Deogorh – of the State.
NABARD has been supporting various Tribal Development Projects in these districts and 250 girl children of the project beneficiaries were invited to the National Girl Child Day celebration function.
NABARD has also identified and felicitated fourteen girls who have become inspiration for others in their respective area.
NABARD Odisha Regional Office Chief General Manager C. Udayabhaskar advised the girl children to focus on studies, nutritional food and assured that the support of NABARD will continue in the project areas.
Odisha Community Tank Development and Management Society Project Director Madhusmita Sahoo graced the function as the chief guest and interacted with the girl children on virtual mode. Motivating the girls, she advised them about the importance of education and hard work to excel in life.
NABARD, Odisha Regional Office also felicitated the girl children and their support staff. All the District Development Managers of NABARD from thirty districts of Odisha also participated in the programme.
